Third Part

FOR JAKE
-Patti Smith

Snakes and lizards

Toads and frogs

and creepy things found under logs.

Birds and butterflies

Fish and bats

things that wiggle and baseball hats.

They call me Monkey

and I know why.

I like to try

to see if I

can touch the sky.

I can be sweet

my mom knows that.

Don't test my temper

I'll knock you flat.

My bb gun is my favorite toy

I'm nine years old

and I'm a boy!

-----------------------------------

MY SON, MY GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT
Janet Reynolds

You were so tiny lying there in my arms

So perfect and warm, so full of charm

I looked at you then and I knew in my heart

The bond that we shared was only a start

I watched you grow into a wonderful man

I guess you could say I am your greatest fan

Now the time has come, I must let you go

I just wanted you to know that I love you so

You soon will be "Dad", with a son by your side

Everything he will do will fill you with pride

You will share tears, laughter, and love

Heartache, pride, and faith from above

I will be here for you until my last day

To watch over you and love you, and some will say

To protect you as always a mother will do

To be here for you and help you too.

Fat girls chase me
So I run like the wind
While I throw them Ho Ho's

White Dove

remodeling
David DM Coutant

I've lived inside a castle, unbreakable; paper, glass and words

Built of the betterness I've been told was my blessing

Now I'm throwing off the layers and I'm cursing every inch

I have to pile them on again, but now I must decide

If I start again with nothing, where do I fit in?

I mean, the melted snow leaves no trace in the next winter storm

The cube that freezes has no hint of the cube that was before

The melted statue of the form I held will harden

But I don't know the shape it will be in.

Watching through someone else's eye, even what my own sees

When I look at them, and see their pain, their follies and strife

I see the outline, the vague shadow of the structure

I wish to fill with my own story.

I follow in their thumb-prints, try to live through their ideals

Turn my head the way I once saw Tommy turning his

If blessings are to be lived by, or for, or through, may I

Present myself as with these ill-gotten memories

-------------------------------------

Momma
beth

Momma, what terrible thing have I done to you?

If I asked you, would you hold that against me?

Do you ridicule me behind my back,

and tell me sweet things in my eyes?

If I complain, would you hold that against me too?

When my time comes, would you be sorry?

And tell me sweet things in my broken eyes?

They would be gone.

Momma, if I hate you and you hate me,

how did we ever live as one?

---------------------------------

There once was an angel

that came from a place

where no pain or tears

ever formed a river

this angel was from such a wonderful place

no one thought there could be such a paradise

until they experienced it

when the happiness of the angels home grew and grew

the world of hate and no imagination destroyed it

which will destroy the hearts and minds of dreamers

like angels

THANKS TO YOU
By "pantaloons"

I thanked you then, I'm thanking you now,

I'll thank you forevermore.

You picked me up,

And carried me through,

When my feet were simply too sore.

For everyone I've ever come in contact with. All you ever do is help.

The Vine
Jim Anderson

There in a forgotten town
The vineyard, a jewel in a past crown

The vine lives in an overrun vineyard
The struggles of life seem so hard

She climbs along the walls that crumble
Rocks and stones on her tumble

Her seeds try so hard to survive
Hopefully her will to live will be revived

Let her overcome the littering stones
And grow to her rightful throne

Do not worry about the thorn bush
Your beautiful leaves will shadow him with a hush

You search high and low for the oak
He stands in the middle of the garden wearing his cloak

She wonders the garden floor looking for her mate
For there he will over shadow all hate

Soon may you find the strength that you seek
For everything that you may need, will come to the meek

Revolt against the rock and stone
Cling to the oak where you will not be alone

Bask in the warm rays from mourning to night
The mighty oak will protect you from the burning noon sunlight

She will find her rest
Then it will be for the best

Friendship
Rajeshwari Srinivasan

Friendship is like a flower

Soft, fragrant, delicate and beautiful

Friendship is like a hearth

That gives warmth and comfort to the soul

Friendship is like the sky

Open, carefree, changing colors over time

Friendship is like the earth

Immensely beautiful and spectacular

Friendship is like a forest

Evergreen, silent, and refreshingly pure

Friendship is like the ocean

A mystery to others, an ongoing discovery to its inhabitants

Friendship is like a fire

Once it gets going, it s unstoppable

Friendship is like the sun

It is necessary for survival

Friendship is a gift from God

And blessed are the ones who have a friend

Happy friendship!

UNWANTED
aanuradha

Miles apart though you are

From oceans dark and deep

Now has found another

Letting the old one weep

I see, I see, I see

Those twinkling eyes of yours

In my dreams every day

Never to own to love once more

Loneliness is destined,

To be with me forever

You took away my heaven

To some one very special

10 years or more, have I kept it here

In this heart of mine

To hear you say "Honey I am sorry,

You are just too late to be my wife"!.

-------------------------------------

"Don't Ask Me Not To Love You"
Elisabeth M. Oliver-Maggiani

I'm not begging you to love me.

I'm really not even asking you.

But, wouldn't it be okay if I held that hope

in my heart?

If I waste my dreams on hoping to have you,

And hoping to call you my own,

It will hurt me...

Not you.

I promise...my eyes won't shine when I see you,

And I promise...

I will try not to give you that special smile

And I promise...

I won't beam when you say "See ya in a while"

But, please....

Please don't ask me not to love you.

---------------------------------------

FRIENDS?
Danielle Brantley

Friend are people who help you in need

Not people who are just for greed.

Sometimes I wonder who my true friends are.

Not the ones who are so distant and far.

Not the ones who stab you in the back.

But the ones who wonder where your at.

I have alot of people who say their my friend.

But steady runnin' round again.

There are only so many people I can trust.

But then again I end up in the dust.

My only true friend is God.

Not Jamie nor Tod.

Message: Choose your Friends wisely

---------------------------------------

I Do
Thunder

A marriage is a special vow

That should last forever

A union between a woman and a man

For either worse or better

still so many questions fill my head

Can this be true, is this for real

Is this the one for me

In God's plan for me?

Or am I only dreaming?

This is the truth, this is really real

God has this woman in mind for me

I don't believe in destiny

I believe He created me for you

And you for me, I do

I do, I do, I do believe

You are, you are, you are the one for me

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes I love you

Breakthrough She Has Taught Me
Michael A. Dennis, Jr.

She covers the soul with fragrance,

that can neither be displayed nor expressed,

Sometimes she sings of the great times,

even her stress

Her voice,

along with the right heartbeat and time,

Creates joy and freedom,

Thus it goes scampering along the bridge of my spine

The only points that count,

are if they open you,

She conjure thrill in the heart and bursts the veins,

a soft subtle spew

I reach for the reins and pass the moon on a fly,

Death has no face here in this crowd,

I am no longer afraid to die.

I was a day

coming in my window

I was a night

sleeping on your pillow

but there is nothing

I could ask

just another broken task

LIFE
Ian Davidson

Growing in your mothers womb

The time has come to leave the tomb

You travel towards the gaping light

Unaware of it's source, you make the flight

The ways of the world become more clear

As you step into adolescence, it's worse than you fear

Society corrupted your innocent mind

Propaganda lied within every kind

The government supports the rich minority

But capitalizes on the working majority

Stepping into the working class

you watch the years quickly pass

Religion distorts your views on morality

Faith can lead to disillusion vanity

Money becomes your active goal

Greed and corruption take control

Middle ages and beginning to slow

The days and years begin to flow

Your youth becomes a forgotten dream

You reach sixty and begin to scream

Nobody told you when to run

You missed the starting gun

Old and gray, you want to die

You begin to wonder about heaven in the sky

Peace comes with concluding death

So wonderful it is, with your final breath

Your life flashes quickly by

tranquil and happy you learn to fly

Tears roll down the family's cheek

Nirvana the place you solemnly seek

You fly there so gracefully

The pain is over, your finally free

--------------------------------------------

Sometimes the problems we have

Are problems of our own fears?

We lie awake crying

We lie awake dying

When will we see the error?

When will we see who cares?

Instead of all the hate

Believe in ways of faith

I don't see it any other way

I lie awake dying

I lie away crying

Don't you see?

The love in me

Why can't you see

The beauty in the of the sea.

James Tanton

----------------------------------------

I will explain it,

You will understand.

I will tell you,

You will take my hand.

If you would listen,

I would speak to you.

If you would listen,

I would tell you the truth.

Why can't you see,

This is all for you?

Why can't you see,

The way I feel about you?

Together we would be,

Together we would stay,

Together no matter what,

If you would just listen to me say.

Oh why can't you see,

I am here for you,

I am here today,

I will be tomorrow too,

because, I Love You...

To what end does this solitude extend?

If that which I want dwells on my thoughts

What plainer truth needed further proof?

These feelings inside being unjustly denied are

Considered false--leaving me at loss--then

Is love a sin to be forbidden?

If true, as it seems, it must be esteemed

For fact is right, judged in black and white

But if truth be praised, honesty has weight

And if our father above created in love, how

Is it a sin of mine to be in love with thine?

How can you tell....
MJ

How can you tell that an Angel has wings?

Only by all the wonderful things.

Just look around and you will see.

All the beauty the color and things yet to be.

How about the old couple walking hand and hand.

Or the small little child making castles in the sand.

The look on your son's face.

When something's gone right.

Or just kissing your boys and saying goodnight.

That's how you tell an Angel has wings.

By enjoying all of the beautiful things.

What if...
By Gabe Michalski

What if life has no true meaning but to live?

What if death is nothing but the end of life?

What if heaven is just your cold grave?

What if God is a myth?

What if the Devil is just another guy?

What if evil is just an opinion?

What if good is just a mentality?

What if we are alone in the universe?

What is all of this is true?

Would you be reading my poem?

The Orchestra Eat
Chris

They are Pure subjects

Received for one night

It is possible

In far dockyards will be built a temple

Christ painted black youths there

I hope you have at least enjoyed it

A most banal piece although much has been written about secret tradition

His decision reached the company

All this works in Finland

By promoting a thorough and current account of the pollution

There are fourteen chapters

Dealing with the process of damage

On the end of the rabble the orchestra eat

She could be a doctor

She or to people like your mother

For that book you dropped could kick the world

Always be a routine

People called ignorance of the victory in detail

And tell what's good and their very pretty convinced

That we really don't understand what all happened

But I wanna know

Strains to be visible, bizarre

poetry like your pockets

Greek but it should be

So tell me

Ode to Chroi
(Irish-Pronounced: KHREE)
© Seán D. Mac an Airchinnigh

Rise up! I say, rise in the early morn
Tis far better to submit, than face the master's scorn

Fly upon those sliver wings the cost is nearly nil
Rest your weary bones, at the inn, atop the hill.

Tis never a chance you have to take
Reward is won for life at stake

To reward thyself for winning race,
And comfort finds it's resting place.

Do not ask for whom they toll
it barters for thy very soul,

And as for sounds that are unique,
It beckons to a tender kiss, upon thy rosy cheek.

They toll for thee oh blessed one--
But for a meter the race is won

Fulfillment is thy soul's request
and strive for my solace rest,

I live to love thy holy breast,
If only--I could peek. : )

Don't trust marriage

Your life together blamed

The sins i sparked in you

It's innocent without this

I wouldn't hate you

I clapped as you staggered

I leaped up behind

I wouldn't throw your marriage

As far as i could trust it

The group of us, insipid

We talk about your choices

Yet you're there with us, cursing

And looking at the women

I wouldn't pass your marriage

On to a virgin

It's as pure as my clenched fist

Pounding an urchin

So give your marriage away

Let's go to the city

Life is a parade

antisugar

My feelings grow, more and more,

With each passing day,

That I hear your voice,

See your face,

Smell your breathe,

Kiss your lips,

Finally, until I know,

I've stumbled into something,

Something much too big,

I never realized, until now,

That there's something,

Between us which I just can't ever forget,

My feelings towards you run deep,

What I'm trying to say is,

Yeah, I like you,

More and more each day.

TOGETHER AGAIN
STEPHANIE MIDDLEBROOK

SO MANY TEARS HAVE FALLEN

MY HEART HAS BROKEN IN TWO.

MY SOUL FEEL EMPTY, AND I CRY OUT

BECAUSE THE LORD HAS TAKEN YOU.

THE LONELINESS I FEEL

IS ALSO WITH KNOWING,

THAT YOU ARE WITH GOD

THOUGH YOUR BLOOD IS NOT FLOWING.

YOUR HEART IS NOT BEATING

AND NEITHER IS MINE,

BUT NOW YOU ARE AT PEACE,

ANOTHER STAR WILL SHINE.

LORD, GIVE US THE STRENGTH

TO COPE WITH OUR LOSS,

THAT ONE DAY THE BRIDGE TO HEAVEN

WE ALSO WILL CROSS.

WE WILL ALL BE TOGETHER

COMPLETE ONCE AGAIN,

AND THOUGH THIS FEELS LIKE FOREVER

IT IS NOT THE END.

Happy Birthday
David Zimmerman

Sixteen years ago this day,

The world was made a better place,

For the depths of beauty were not reached,

Until you showed your little face.

You brought into this world,

More than life itself can bring,

For the limits of your kindness,

Cannot be compared to anything.

As each year has passed on by,

You shone with every step you took,

And a brighter heart is hard to find,

My eyes dare not even look.

You set the world on fire,

With the smile on your face,

You calm the world with silence,

With the warmth of your embrace.

You display to me these things,

With every single word you say,

And I thank you for giving me,

A place for my heart to stay.

Prejudice
Amy L. Carlson

I approach a familiar intersection.

The insanity of the masses lingers in the air

like a foul smelling infectious disease.

The drones pass each other blindly,

Unable to see through their clouded generalizations.

Their minds are bound by generations of distorted learned behavior,

Unwilling to take hold of the promise of a fresh new perspective.

Thoughts become misguided by an irrational sense of displaced anger.

How very sad it is to judge an entire people based on a misconception,

Rather than drawing a conclusion based on the individual character traits

And experiences that make each person unique.

"My Manuel"
Hanna McMurray

Days have gone by,

and I haven't seen your face,

Only in my dreams,

if that may be the case.

The way you used to pick,

and torture me so,

Have become quite faint,

and I have so many years to go.

I wish I had the chance,

to tell you how I feel,

But all I have is the dance,

to tell me it was real.

I'll miss your big heart,

and the way you mad mine jump,

I'll miss you while were apart,

and see you one day soon.

I love you and miss you.

In memory of Manuel Torres...

Beauty and the beast
Tracy Anne zimmerman

If no one was fat, no one would be thin. If no one ever

lost, no one would ever win. If no one was short, no one

would be tall. If no one's nose was large, no ones nose

would be small. If no one was dull, no one would be witty. If

no one was ugly no one would be pretty. So if you're short,

fat, and ugly, don't feel too sad, cause I wouldn't look so

gook if you didn't look so bad.

I Love you more than words can say, and I'm sending a dozen Butterfly Kisses your way. Try and catch them if you can, and blow them back to my waiting hand! If, upon return I catch them, the cycle will be complete. And you will know how much I Love you, because we share the same heartbeat.

" Discovery "
Kasia Robbins

It's been a long, long journey

Through past and memories,

Most to be forgotten.

Through dreams and desires,

Goals never to be accomplished

Through pain, shame

And soul-agony

Finally it's there

So close

Yet so distant

Waiting to be discovered

The true meaning of LOVE.

The way we were is now a memory

You hurt me and told me lies

I can't love you ever again

No matter how many tries

It wasn't right the first time

What makes you think it will be now

I can't trust that ever again

We can't make it workout somehow

I've moved on and why can't you

I need the memory that somewhere we were right

But we never will be ever again

Now I'll be able to sleep at night

Missing you.
Nancy Morris

In the past every thing was so right,

I miss the way you held me so tight.

Before, I'd look into your eyes and melt,

but now I just try to remember how that felt.

My first love, my first boyfriend ever cared about.

I knew we'd always be together, I thought without a doubt.

And now I sit and wonder, what happened to us?

The memories of how perfect our love,

It hurts so much, I'm still in pain

Sometimes I think without you I'd go insane.

I wish I could go back and change everything that I've done wrong.

I miss you so much, I long for your touch.

I miss your eyes, your soft lips, and the tickle of your finger tips.

I miss your arms around me, and the way it used to be.

I miss all the times we had, the memories just make me so sad.

I miss hearing I love you, and the things we used to do.

I miss the laughing, the flirting, the cuddling and kissing.

Now all that is left is tears,

the thought of loosing you, my biggest fear.

Know matter what happens, just know that I'll always be here.

Love is like a day, when no one cares.

Love is like a time, when nothing is fair.

Love is like a book, that makes you cry.

Love is like a tear, falling from your eyes.

Love is like a heart, broken in two.

Love is like MY heart, broken... and no glue.

IS TRUTH SO FREE?
by Andrew Michael Ford

twisting, fading ever inward. swallow freely, feeling queasy. take it on, a load so full. kill it son, that painful dagger. will i, won't i know the answer? and if revealed, for what the reason? i find myself, an empty maze.

carry on my son, so proud. make a difference, with your tongue. liar, liar, flaming fire. burn me now and ever after. a cool unending breeze, i need. come peace, i need to please my soul. a hiding place, a final home.

lastly body, heart defined. mind adrift sad melodies. echo deep, and wide, and free. sing to me a song of life. the struggle ends and starts anew. with birth each day like drops of rain. and i feel numb with liberty.

is truth so free?

-------------------------------

My precious star...
PEACHES

The truth is not that far.

But you will have to see it for yourself

Only you, no one else.

The man that you think is great

Is my life's biggest mistake.

But I'd never tell you to your face

It's for your eyes to see

It can not come from me

Since before you were born

Madness has been going on

Scared of what was sure to come

I held on to give you a chance, my precious son

Hoping I could protect you from all that is bad

Hiding my tears so you'd never see me sad

Try to do what's best for the future

Pushing myself to have something good for ya

[You're my twinkle in the sky

The apple of my eye

You put the smile on my face

Make me rocket out to space]

So I dry my tears

Freeze my fears

Toss it all to the rear

Because you are near

I must be strong

I can't stop here, life does go on.

So I'll stand tall

And try not to fall

Hold my head high

And never let you see me cry

But when you are grown

And have a wife of your own

Remember what your young eyes have seen

Never be mean

Never raise your hand

To make her understand

Use your head not your fist

Promise you'll do this

Treat her the way you would me

Be the man you Father could never be

Happiness
Jennifer

He talks to her in his dreams and he doesn't realize it, but she always hears

She can't see the way he loves her... she hears but doesn't listen

because that's the way she's always been.

He tries so hard and loves her endlessly..

He talks and she quiets him.

In the end she always wins.

Born to live in a never-ending endeavor to pick apart the pieces of her heart and try to

figure out why her eyes seem so cloudy when in her heart she sees clearly...why she never

sees what's there..

He lives with her in his blind-sight...trying to tell her without starting a fight..

Somehow the end of all this is always in sight, but it floats out of touch with their

finger-tips so all they can ever do is keep wanting this... happiness.

"Bad Harvest"
Barry Cormier

Three nights and not a word was spoken

For we were afraid of spoken regrets.

I did not wish to see the days of a different shade,

A shade that would block out the sun.

It is not what is said that hurts,

But what is begrudged that destroys.

And destroy you it shall. And defile me it shall.

Call for John and send him hither

For the garden is beginning to wither.

No holy rain can save these flowers

For the seeds will bear a different fruit.

It is not what is grown that poisons us.

It is what is harvested that destroys.

And destroy you it shall. And defile me it shall

THE WORST PUNISHMENT
molly dean

The worst punishment has got to be

Forever being lonely

That's what you think at first

But that's not the worst

For if you were in hell to burn

And were forced never to return

What if you lost your way?

And was in heaven for one day?

If you were always lonely you would never miss

Things such as the joy of a beautiful kiss

For you would never know of such treasures

You have never experienced such pleasures

If to those things you were exposed

You would spend eternity searching for those

"It wasn't my fault"
Joan1230

It wasn't my fault I wasn't to blame;

It wasn't my fault for missing you, I thought was already gone away.

Am I at fault for noticing that there were many things in life that catch your eye;

But only me caught your heart.

You lived your life no blood, no honor, all pain and fury;

I had to live with a guilt from your sentence by a jury.

I wasn't to blame you got into this mess;

I tried to get you out in distress.

I wish you would have listened and put down that booze;

Instead you told me " Baby what have I to loose"

It wasn't my fault you were hardheaded to listen;

With that trouble in your hand your eyes would glisten.

It wasn't my fault, I wasn't to blame, what have I to loose;

To live or die or shall God choose.

It wasn't my fault, I wasn't to blame;

I wish I could of saved your life so today wouldn't be the same.

So in my soul, in my heart, till my dying day;

I know it wasn't my fault " It was yours" you would always say.

Beach
Ashley

Touch the windy air that whooshes by

Feel the waves rush

Tickled gently by the sweet sand's caress

Salty taste of the ocean's tears on your tongue

Feet bare and cut from mussels sharp

And squishy cold sand between the gaps

Frolic with the seafoam

And smell the deeply invigorating air

Melt away from your worries

And freedom is yours for the day

As you befriend the mystic blue

And wait for the glowing orb to sail down

On her ship of moonbeams pale

THE OUTCAST
Written by J.C. Adair

The wind is blowing

Tears are clouding my eyes

I wish my life could be different

but I know in my heart that

it must be this way.

I always thought the world

was a loving place but it's

so cold no one cares for anyone

it's funny how people say love

makes the world go around

yet no one loves anyone

Life is all an act on stage

and everyone has a part in life

and mine's the out cast.

I always hear people say

every one's part is important

so I keep my head held up high

and keep telling myself

I'm important even if I'm

the out cast in the play called life.

how could this happen

all the times i think of you

how can you imagine

why did we grow apart

now the pain in my heart

the story must be told

on the love we hold

it is more pure than gold

it stood out so bold accidents happen

but how could we let this one spoil the fun

i guess i am done but i think you were the one

for me the sky is the limit and I'm reaching for the stars. You must take what you get in life. Every creature will have it. It is called trust. Your are always trusting and being trusted, loving and being loved. I am always relying on some one, and being relied on. So if you want; if you will, call this the goodness in life. The goodness in life is you.

My love that I have found has captured my heart and taken away my soul.

When my mouth speaks of my love it seems as though i can speak no more.

When my mind thinks of my love it seems as though i can think no more.

around my love a minute is eternity. When my eyes see my love my eyes shall see no other but my love.

Everything
tdennis

Your smile is so inviting,

your hands are so comforting,

your eyes are daring.

A voice with such sweet sound,

a mind so intellectual too.

But, your heart which is

Filled with so much love,

is what I really want.

Spring is here
by Jennifer Abt

Spring is here

Crisp air

Get ready

Beware

Spring is cool

too cool for me

I hate

cheerful people

I love to play sports

I do I do I do

So if you give me a bat and glove

Well then I will give you a nice treat

Spring is finally here

I am so glad

but when it's still winter

I am very sad

I WONDER
XaVivRaNtTHaNgX

I WONDER IF THE SUN WILL ALWAYS SHINE

I WONDER IF CLOCKS WILL RUN OUT OF TIME

I WONDER IF THE MOON WILL ALWAYS GLOW

I WONDER IF THE STARS WILL ALWAYS SHOW

I WONDER IF GOD WILL ALWAYS CARE

I WONDER IF FRIENDS WILL ALWAYS BE THERE

I WONDER IF WILL HE HATE ME OR BE SO KIND

I WONDER IF HER POEM IS AS GOOD AS MINE

Someone Who Died This Morning
hasmith

Someone who died this morning

Will never know the rosy hues

Of this evening's sunset,

Nor feel the soft cool breeze

The darkness brings

Across the velvet lawn.

Love! Bright laughter on a starry night

Is lost forever upon his ears.

Someone who died today,

Will not see tomorrow's sky,

And know whether it rained

Or was dry.

Never again will his mind

Perceive the roads of destiny

That lie ahead for those of us

Who are left behind.

But pity not the life that's ended,

Of sights not seen and love suspended,

For someone who died this day

Knows more of DEATH than

You or I could ever say.

not feeling a thing

numb from the pain,

to see her eyes

i hope she hears my cries

oh how i want the day

when she can come

and take all my pain away.

DONNA BROWN

HAVE TO MANY DAYS PASSED US BY

BUT MY LOVE WILL NOT DIE

In this hell

I am trapped

gloomy shades

of smoky gray

tears of rage

powerful voice

tries to speak

but makes no noise

In this hell

an unborn soul

that hasn't yet

began to grow

empty words

endless lies

is all I heard

In this hell

I am afraid to speak

tormenting my mind

makes me weak

all this shit I hear

makes me sick

I live in fear

in this hell.

"In The In Between"
Kori Darr

I'm not happy,but I'm not really sad

I'm not awake,but I don't sleep

I smile sometimes, but I'm not at all glad

I'm not crying, but I still seem to weep

I'm not cold, but the warmth just isn't there

I'm so real,but I can't be true

I'm not blinking,but I'm not in a vacant stare

I'm not alone, but I'm still not with you

I'm quiet, but my presence is loud

I'm not correct,but I'm not all wrong

I'm totally ashamed,but still a little proud

In the in between is where I belong

Ocean
Nat in the Hat

Repeated Rhythm,

ripples, ripples,

maturing into waves.

Calm and serene at times

roaring with fury

at others.

Depths, fathoms below,

darkness, fear

another world.

Weightless.

A phenomenon so great.

Unimaginable beauty,

takes us away.

"Weeping Willow"
Louise Smith

Weeping willow, why do you weep?

your sadness seems so true and deep.

your world has become much darker now

much darker that God should allow.

The tears of God come flowing down,

you hear his voice say, "Do not frown,

for i have a greater plan for thee

and very soon you will see."

"The world has much to give to you

As long as your heart is always true

My love will always be around

so please, willow, do not frown."

"Weeping willow, do not cry,

do not frown, and do not sigh,

For when you cry you make me sad

but you'll have my love, the love you've always had."

So weeping willow dries his tears

God shoves away all his fears

This empty space is filled with love

from the supreme being, up above

The Autumn Sunflower
LuAdRen

Golden like the sun that took refuge

Behind the darkening clouds.

A once smiling, thriving flower-

weeps.

It weeps of its time-

Of mid-July fires-

Of late-August barbecues-

Of naps on lazy, Sunday afternoons.

All it can do is weep.

It hangs its head lower and lower to cry.

There is nothing left for it to live for;

No more strength to smile again.

A sorrowful clown.

The petal are soggy from the season.

To think that it spread so much joy,

But what was the point?

It waits, in silence, for God to reset

the sunflower and allow it to

smile and thrive again.

Jane Doe's Story
chenique martin

I don't know what drives me to leave my morals behind when I see your face, hear your voice.

You bring out things in me that make all love and life besides you nonexistent.

My life I hold in your hands, I embarrass myself for you. Your beautiful eyes seem so true when you lie to my face.

Why do I love you like I do?

What did you do that sent me off that cliff?

You seem so pure to my heart, though my mind hates you.

You confuse my entire body, different parts take different sides.

With every sweet kiss I melt a little more.

How can I go on loving what I don't really know?

But I do know, I know you are no good for me.

I see you with your smiles, the others all around you.

I see you with your sweet kisses, offering them to those others.

You look at me now then look away, you used to stare so sweetly.

You pass me by and bump my shoulder, you used to hug me so tight and you smelled so nice.

What happened to my "beauty"?

What about my "charm"?

Did my eyes suddenly loose their star-like shine?

Was it me or you who did that thing so wrong?

But still I can't hate you because I'll never know the answers.

Your cologne perfumes the air so sweet as you walk by...

Walk by without saying goodbye.

I don't want to live tomorrow

When I'm not through with today

But every time I close my eyes

This world just slips away

It's looking to the future

When the past still haunts my soul

How the memories of yesterday

Have crafted such a role

Prison
Susanna V.

The rain pours down

It never ceases

It dampens the world around

with its endless peace

As it gets harder

The urge to leave grows

Until its unbearable

Its effecting my whole soul

We're lost in a world

Prisoners to the sky

It sucks all our energy

We're here left to die

Serenity
Janet Reynolds

Something so beautiful and so grand

Can sweep you away like prints in the sand

Leaves you breathless as the tide rolls in

As powerful and strong as the bird on the wind

The sea is a temple that was given by God

For all his precious creatures to live and to trod

I wonder if they have destroyed their place

With war and hatred no love not a trace

I pray that they haven't as only man can do

That it's beautiful and serene and full of love to

That it's peaceful and calm as the days go by

As I wish men could do, at least give it a try

I will walk on the shores and stare out to sea

Feel the peaceful and wonder that it gives me

Let's keep it a haven for people to share

I hope the creatures know that I really care

Walls of Fear
kiaramay

We hide behind these walls of fear

Fear of what we were

Fear of what we are

And fear of what we soon will become

So afraid of ourselves

That we dare not interact

We've given our lives over to building these walls

These walls of fear

That by the time we see our mistakes

It is too late, the walls too strong

These indestructible walls of fear

Where I'm Coming From.
Tiffany Webster

There's something that I want to say,

I think it each and every day,

But how can I say you're on my mind,

not now and then, but all the time ?

With a very special friendship and a trust beyond belief,

I only have to see you and I feel a great relief,

It takes only a glance from you're gorgeous eyes,

To make me want you so much, I think I could die.

I have never wanted anyone the way that I want you,

Everything that's perfect, everything that's you,

But would I be asking the impossible of you,

If all I ever need is, you to love me too ?

Yesterday has come to past, and here I sit facing the truth. How could such a beautiful life disappear from my hands as I was gripping so tightly. Tears of pain roll from the faces of those that love, that desire life, and face each day in the trust of God. No excuses made possible, now to accept the unacceptable, impossible as it seems, I continue to try. Sleepless nights and endless days of pain, terror around each corner brings me closer to darkness. The same darkness I have fought for years, I now willingly accept to blacken my heart forever. My God isn't one that takes such a young life, I strike back in anger, shows to be irrelevant, again the people weep. Thoughts refuse to process any longer as my mind grows blank. Each day that passes I refrain from this life and accept death as the alternative. I open my hands to no God, I bow before the lost ones that I have in that past treasured, and shall no more. Mind is set on a night, to leave this cruel world and strive to help those that have fallen to the depths of hell, back into the light. Jesus cries as one more of Gods children falls from faith, as I am to blame, as we all are, to blame.

Water quivering

Wind whistling

Hush, I say, may I hear the heartbeat of my love.

As I sail into the river of hope.

Searching for the glow, the spark.

Venice, tell me where have you hidden him.

Where have you hidden the star of the brightest night,

The light in an obscure cave,

The hope for life?

Lullabies playing

Birds chirping

Hush, I say, may I hear the heartbeat of my love.

As I continue my pursuit,

Searching for the warmth, the compassion.

I can sense your heartbeat,

Closer and closer.

Venice, tell me where have you hidden him.

Where have you hidden the flower of the garden,

The luster of the diamond,

The brightness of the sun?

People talking,

Children playing,

Hush, I say, may I hear the heartbeat of my love,

As I persevere my journey,

Searching for the love, the happiness.

I can hear your heartbeat,

Now more than ever.

My eyes then catch a glimpse of a tall shadow at the end of the trail.

Nearer and nearer to the unknown I go,

That I finally found what I was looking for.

My love at the end of the path.

Hush, I say, may I hear your heartbeat at last...

Fallen Angel

Desperate despair

Calls out to the pit of darkness

Waking up an angel

Fallen from the sky

Rudely disturbing his contempt of being

Alerting him with their cries

To engage in living

Feeling the existence of the world above

ALL ALONE
MIA O'CONNER

LEAVING ME ALL ALONE

NOW YOU ARE LONG GONE

DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU'RE AT

HOPING THAT YOU WILL COME BACK

THINKING ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY

WANTING YOU TO HOLD ME IN EVERY EACH WAY

FOR ALL THE THAT WE SPARE

WISHING THAT YOU WAS HERE

MY HEART NEVER SKIP A BEAT

YOUR KINDNESS AND UNDERSTANDING IS SO SWEET

KNOWING THAT THINGS DO GO WRONG

WONDERING IS OUR FRIENDSHIP REALLY THAT STRONG

Death of the Innocent
Ruthann Pharris

She insists in a warm room but feels no heat.

Her arms are pale as a death.

Blue lips speak words that no one hears.

A life of pure loneliness shines form her face.

Unloved... unwanted...uncared for.

She is the innocent and her life is nothing more than shadows.

In all this world the cold hand of death plucks and watches this rose wither and die.
